To make the first appointment more efficient, please fill out the "New Client Info" sheet, so I have some basic background information about you. Then prepare any questions you may have for me so that I can be sure to address them during our session. We can either meet in person or via Zoom video session. However, I usually prefer the first session in person if possible.
The first meeting is like a get-to-know-you time. I want to know about your story and gather more relevant background information. Some typical questions I might ask would be about what you hope to accomplish in the therapy and why you are seeking therapy now. The point of all of this is to determine whether there is a good fit for you and me, so it is important that you be as open as you can be. If we agree that it feels like a good fit, then we can discuss the work's how, when, and where together. If we're not a good fit, I will help you find a therapist that is a better fit for you.
That first appointment allows us to focus on the journey forward so that our future discussions can be more specific on the tasks most important to you. I frequently suggest some outside materials to read or view to make good use of the time between sessions.
Frequency varies greatly depending on the issues at hand. Frequently in the beginning, it is sometimes better to work weekly to get the process moving quickly and more efficiently. After some progress is achieved, sessions can be spread out bi-weekly or monthly. You are not obligated to any length of time commitment.
Some clients choose to be more process-oriented, meaning that they may be long-term clients desiring to use the session time on an ongoing basis to reflect on overall personal growth. Other clients, once they complete therapy, may want to come back for "tune-up" time to maintain their progress consistency.
My fees are $175.00 per 50-min hour, payable either before the session or at the end of the session on the day of the session. Although I do not submit invoices to insurance companies, I can provide a superbill you can submit that has all of the relevant information that the insurance company would need. In addition, you can contact your insurance company in advance to see if they provide an out-of-network benefit for you, as I am no longer an in-network provider on any insurance panels.
Although I am not on any insurance panels, if you want to submit your invoice to your insurance company for out-of-network benefit determination and processing, I can provide you a superbill invoice for you to submit. The superbill has all of the information normally required by insurance companies. Clients pay out-of-pocket up front at the time of service.
Simply fill out the form below and I will reach out with your next steps!
